Anatidae

The anatidés (or Anatidae ) constitute the most important family about the Ansériformes, it includes/understands the Oie S, the swan S, the related Canard S and species: Dendrocygne S, Coscoroba, Barnacle S, Céréopse, Stictonette, Ouette S, Tadorne S, Brassemer S (or duck-steamer), Goose-army, Ptéronette, Anserelle S, Callonette, Merganette, Teal S, Clear S, Fuligule S, eider duck S, harlequin, Harelde, Scoter S, garrot S, Merganser S, Hétéronette and érismature S.

They are water birds of intermediate size to large (from 30 to 180 cm), to the massive body, the short and webbed legs and the nozzle generally flattened and rounded with the extrémité.
The ducks present a sexual Dimorphisme Net, it is not the case in the swans and geese. The young people are nidifuges and their development is fast (a few weeks).
Their dense plumage is waterproofed thanks to secretions of the Glande uropygienne.
Cosmopolitans except for the Antarctic, they live in a broad variety of watery habitats, nesting especially out of fresh water. Their food mode is very eclectic, energy of the strict herbivores to the carnivores while passing by the planctivores.

Only certain varieties of anatidés are recognized like domestic S by the French legislation in the official list of the Department of the Environment.

Two species at least are extinct:
