Anarchists Against the Wall

The collective “ Anarchists Against The Wall ” (in French, Anarchistic against the Wall ), is an Israeli organization created in 2003. This non-violent group militates against the construction of the wall separating the Palestinian territories from the state of Israel in all the the West Bank.

History

In 2003, several militants and militant gather at the time of a camping with Mas' ha to create an action group against the “barrier of separation” set up by the state of Israel. The actions organized by this anarchistic group are based on non-violence and the “Propagande by the fact”.

The December 26th 2003, the armed opens fire on an Israeli demonstrator at the time of a peaceful demonstration against the “barrier of separation”. Wounded by bullets with the two legs, Gil Na' matted, a kibboutznik of Re' im 21 years old, had just finished his military service and tried with other demonstrators to dismount the mechanism of locking of a door. The incident is quickly médiatisé in the Israeli press, and solidifies the name of the group which until there changed some with each action.

End 2003, beginning 2004, of the popular committees are created in several Palestinian villages to protest against the wall. The purpose of these committees are to resist the construction of the wall and express almost daily. Profiting from the experiment of the camping of Mas' ha, Israelis and Israelis are invited to take part in the demonstrations, inaugurating a long partnership between the Anarchistes against the Wall and the popular committees of many Palestinian villages.

From this time, the activity of the Anarchistes against the Wall intensifies with quasi-daily demonstrations joining together a few tens of Israelis and Israelis in various zones of the West Bank, in particular in the villages of Bil' in in the west of Ramallah, of Al-Ma' will asara and Ertas, in the south of Bethlehem, or Beit Ummar, in the north of Hebron. This mobilization is considered to be important by the anarchists, the Israeli army acknowledging to modify its instructions when she suspects the presence of Israelis in a demonstration.

In spite of levels of violence reduced, nine Palestinian one killed at the time of demonstrations against the wall. Thousands of others were wounded or stopped, others still spent the months in prison.

Today, the activists of the Anarchistes against the Wall are regularly stopped and condemned for their participation in the fight against the “barrier of separation”. Adding up more than 60 judgments, the group has a appointed lawyer, Maître Gaby Lasky, which agrees to be paid only for fees symbolic systems. The Anarchistes against the Wall are currently involved in debt for nearly 40.000 dollars in legal expenditure and of managements and call some with the international solidarity to be able to continue their israélo-Palestinian actions against the wall.
