Anarchism of right-hand side
The Anarchisme of right-hand side is a philosophical and political sensitivity characterized by a refusal to adhere to a company or a system being based on the parliamentary Démocratie, the capacity of the money, the Generally accepted ideas as regards social order, and more generally any form of authority claiming itself them.
It however preserves ideals and values considered by sensitivities of left as politically, morally and ideologically with right, insofar as it does not divide them. In the contrary case, one speaks about anarchist of left (Siné, for example, in opposition to Cavanna).
Bases of the anarchism of right-hand side
With the base of the anarchism of right-hand side, one initially finds a criticism rather violent against the capacity of a minority of intellectuals. This criticism relates paradoxically at the same time to the inefficiency of this capacity and its dangerosity. The intellectuals, subjected to the dominant Ideology of the Democracy S, are supposed to reinforce the intellectual conformism which is inherent in this type of government (Marcel Aymé will conscarera a book with the intellectual Confort , and Louis Pauwels will make beaucop speak about him by speaking about mental AIDS ). These intellectuals then become the principal craftsmen of these democracies, because the parliamentary democracies base their authority on the expressio of a precisely influenceable majority, and which must be influenced to maintain the " moutons" in the enclosure. One recognizes, used in a different orientation, the denunciation of Paul Nizan in the watchdogs , and later that of a Noam Chomsky in the factory of the assent .
There according to the anarchists of right-hand side the base of the political power and, by extension, of political tyranny is. The anarchists of right-hand side thus take for starting point an idea which can appear disturbing with many regards. Contrary to a prejudice anchored well in the spirits, the intellectuals would not be a force of resistance against the political power: at best, they would not have any impact on him, in the worst case, they would reinforce it and receive dominant classes their reward: Karl Marx dies in poverty and Adam Smith in material ease.
The criticism of the anarchists of right-hand side does not stop with this political aspect and ideological. It also attacks another source of the democratic capacity: the conformism of crowd. This " to be able of the peuple" , this " enthusiasm of the foule" , they reject it like handling (see the rape of crowd , of Serge Tchakhotine, 1984 of George Orwell or the factory of constement the of Noam Chomsky). She does not admit that the individual revolt, like Georges Brassens, that she will oppose with obstinacy against any institutional authority or autoproclamant itself intellectual. Thus it of Louis-Ferdinand Céline is which tells us in Voyage at the end of the night how, not wanting any to leave to the face lasting the war 14-18, it runs up against the remonstrances and the sarcastic remarks of his contemporaries who reproach him his lack of enthusiasm and his absence of patriotism. It is this individual rebellion, always present and deeply anchored among anarchists of right-hand side, which confers their main force to them. It is it which leads them to preach the force of the individual conscience (sometimes exacerbated as in the worship of Ego , of Bars), in its complexity and its integrity, like value of reference. It is also it which push them to defend with firmness - at least morally - the individual against the group and thus, the person, single and supplements, against the oppression of the majority and the social determinism. Brassens will evoke this subject in several of its texts, of which the bad reputation , Chanson for Auvergnat , mowed the , the two uncles , Mourir for ideas , Don Juan :
-
Gloire to which not having an ideal sacro-saint
limits to not too emmerder its neighbors
and of course the King .
Anarchism of right-hand side and individualistic anarchism
Thus defined, the anarchism of right-hand side seems quite close to the individualistic Anarchisme. Actually, it should not be confused with him. First of all because the anarchism of right-hand side is not based on the same tradition of thought as individualistic anarchism. According to François Richard (which published a That do know I? on the subject), they are writers like Leon Bloy, Edouard Drumont, Barbey d' Aurevilly, Georges Darien, Paul Léautaud, Louis Pauwels, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Lucien Rebatet, Jacques Perret, Roger Nimier, Marcel Aymé, Michel-Georges Micberth who gave force to this current which plunges its roots in the thought baroque and libertine. Individualistic anarchism has, as for him, a quite different filiation, since it borrows from the hegelianism, with the Proudhon ism, or even with the Libéralisme, most of its fundamental precepts.
In addition, if it is certainly true that what nourishes the thought anarchist-droitiste, it is the revolted individual drawing up himself against a company oppressive and alienating, it is important to underline the fact that the anarchist of right-hand side also militates for the revival of the aristocratic principles. Contrary to the individualistic anarchist, he thus does not fight against the alienation of morals and does not rise against humanism. On the contrary, it defends and applies values morals in which it firmly believes (justice, the honor, the duty, etc) towards and against a company which denies them or perverts them. He thus opposes to human vanity, to the “human silly thing”, his “ugliness” and his animality, a height of spirit, a deep respect of the values morals - values which are often values of right-hand side - to which he adheres.
So much so that, according to François Richard, the majority of the writers connected with the anarchism of right-hand side considered that it was more or less to have to them to defend this intellectual integrity and to refuse any form of kindness towards the conformism of the intellectual mediums. This radical, tinted standpoint shocking provocations or confessions, made of them intellectuals or writers considered to be “unusable by the literary intelligentsia of left”, even of the personalities which were systematically rejected by their contemporaries.
Criticisms of the anarchism of right-hand side
Let us announce however that this rejection owes much with the fact that part of these authors - it is the case of Celine - held of the remarks very virulent anti-semites. Such engagements, except the distrust towards any form of being able including financier, are foreign with anarchism such as one usually hears it. This inconsistency besides is marked even when works of each author are separately studied. None even less conceived in fact like representative of a tendency, and as anarchistic of right-hand side because the expression is rather recent. They were considered just - and were all at least some time - isolated because of the radicality from their points of view. Several of them attended literary circles or political networks.
Theoretical construction and the legitimation of the anarchism of right-hand side, which is made by François Richard makes it possible to give a name to a sensitivity which, while preserving an attachment at some traditional values in their individual morals, wants to be individualistic, anticonformist, undemocratic or in any case anti-parlementariste (even for some, near to the Nihilisme). This sensitivity is not in France represented politically in a very clear way (the political activism of the anarchists of right-hand side is quasi non-existent besides).
The anarchism of right-hand side raises two related questions:
-
the revolt against the capacity as such and conformism are compatible with traditional and humanistic values, or these last locate them on the right - and if so, which line.
-
This current can it assert the name of anarchism.
These two questions remain open today, most of anarchistic mobility answering not the second.
The anarchism of right-hand side today
Currently militant currents of ideas and influences develop in margin of mobility national-revolutionist (NR), which name themselves “national-anarchists” while being claimed of a certain anarchism of right-hand side, which holds more than one individual attitude vis-a-vis the company that of a collective fight of company. Their characteristic is precisely to want to transpose the base of the anarchism of right-hand side in a collective fight. At the ideological level, these movements can be classified as well with the Extreme left as with the Extrême right-hand side of the political chessboard. In practice, one often classifies them with the Extrême right-hand side, because of traditional refusal of parliamentarism by this one.
If one replaces the simple representation right-hand side-left by a system with two axes, one going from conservatism to progressionism and the other of the libertarian to totalitarian, their position is often only moderately on the right, but very largely libertarian.
