Definitions
- a " park with topics " is a park cut out in thematized zones and whose attractions of a zone take again the topic of the zone.
- a " amusement park " is thus on the other hand a park where attractions are côtoient without being able to determine a zone.
Many amusement parks are transformed or changed into parks with topics following campaigns of thématisations.
The fans of and park amusement parks with topics are called parconautes or parkfans . Communities of impassioned develop on Internet and there exists also an association: Parks Passion.
Park with topics
A park with topics proposes as its name indicates it, an immersion in a given universe (topic) through the fitting of its attractions, its decorations and the environment which emerges some. All these factors are grouped under a generic name: the Thématisation. It is however possible that the park posts one topic (as the cinema) but each attraction can or not be associated with the same topic.Contrary to a park with topics, an amusement park does not propose this immersion in a given universe (for example piracy, space, etc), but is summarized with a regrouping of attractions without real coherence.
On the other hand, the absence of federator topic for a unit does not mean that attractions are not thématisées. The many horse-gears " type; chenille" , for example, often as a subject the winter sports have whereas the Fun fair in itself is not a park with topics. There exists thus an important difference between simple a amusement park and a park with topics or park set of themes. This last comprises a decoration, an architecture/particular scenography giving an often single character to him. Its attractions can be also equipped with a particular scenarisation thus becoming with true adventures or experiments.
In addition, the amusement parks seldom have a dedicated hotel. They do not form a Holiday resort (or arises) such as Disneyland Resort Paris.
There exist many parks with topics but the original idea of the concept is of Walt Disney with open Disneyland in 1955.
The creation of this concept also gave rise to a new discipline: the imagineering or Imaginiérie in French.
