Amr Ier (Saffarides)
`Amr bin Layth was the brother of Ya `qûb bin Layth have-Saffâr, the founder of the dynasty of the Saffarides. It succeeded Ya `qûb with its death in 879 but was beaten by the Samanides in 900. It was forced to restore the Khorassan, and Saffarides thereafter were primarily confined with their stronghold of the Sistan, their role being tiny room to those of vassal of Samanides and their successors. He died in 901.
