Amplitude (video game)

Amplitude is a video game developed by Harmonix like the continuation of the play Frequency and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2003.

Principle of the play

Amplitude is a Jeu of rate/rhythm of which the goal consists has successively to reproduce the various tracks of a piece. The player is represented by a spaceship, and evolves/moves in a futuristic universe, on a way representing one of the pieces of the play. This one is cut out in six tracks of different colors, each one representing an musical instrument. Each track contains notes which it is necessary to validate at the good moment to reproduce them. When the player manages to reproduce two measurements of a track, this one disappears and continuous to be played all alone during a given time. The player marks points then, and its gauge of life increases. will have to then move its vessel on another track to continue to play. By connecting several tracks, it increases the multiplier of score. If it misses a note on the track in progress, a note of too plays, or did not join a track available, it loses an minor amount of its gauge of life, the multiplier is given to zero, and it will have to take again the play with following measurement. The part stops by a defeat when the gauge falls to zero, or by a victory when the player reaches the end of the piece.

Certain successful measurements make it possible to obtain a no-claims bonus, which could be launched any time, to slow down the play, to double the multiplier, to destroy a track, or to reach the Freestyle mode. This one makes it possible to be invincible on a small portion of the piece, while gaining points more easily. As a multijouor mode, other no-claims bonus are available to attack the other players.
