The amoxapine is a Antidépresseur tetracyclic class of the dibenzoxazépines.
The amoxapine strongly inhibits recaptures it Noradrénaline, and more slightly that of the Sérotonine. The 7-hydroxyamoxapine, which is one of its metabolites major has an antagonistic effect of the dopaminergique receivers . This molecule has moreover an effect slightly Anticholinergique and Anti-histaminique H1.
