Amon Tobin

Amon Tobin , of its true name Amon Devoted Santos de Araujo Tobin , is a DJ and Musicien, born on February 7th, 1972 with Rio de Janeiro with the Brésil. He currently lives and works with Montreal.

Biography

During its childhood and its adolescence, he travels much between the Europe and Brazil. In the middle of the years 1980, it settles with Brighton, in Great Britain. It studies there initially the Photographie which it then forsakes for the music.

At its beginnings it mixes Jazz, Hip hop, Breakbeat and jungle that it Marie with the musics of her country of origin, then opens gradually at more subtle intervals and more sophisticated melodies, sometimes very close to the Jazz pure and hard. Its discography (would be this only by the titles) famous clearly the stages of the maturation of its style, each album contributing to weave the fabric of a personal universe complexes, cerebral and hypnotic.

It left a first album under the pseudonym Cujo before signing with the label Ninja Tune. Its albums are followed then according to a rate/rhythm of every year and half. Amon Tobin evolves then to an oscillating increasingly vague style between the Breakbeat influences, Drum' Low or Downtempo.

After Mike Patton joined it on scene in 2005 the time of 2 pieces, it is with the turn of Amon Tobin to take part in its album Peeping Tom , left in 2006, on the title Don' T even trip .
