Amir Peretz
Amir Peretz (in Hebrew: עמירפרץ ), born the March 9th 1952 with Boujad with the Morocco, is a Israeli Politician . He becomes the leader of the Israeli workers party following his victory vis-a-vis Shimon Peres with the primary educations of the party the November 9th 2005. He then leads the Labor countryside to the Israeli legislative elections of 2006 and negotiates the entry of the party in the coalition carried out by Ehoud Olmert, following the victory of Kadima.
Youth
Amir Peretz was born Armand Peretz in the town of boujaad with the Morocco. His/her father directs the Jewish community of Boujaad and has a station-gasoline. They immigrate in Israel in 1956 to settle with Sderot, where Amir follows the teaching of the college.
It makes its military service in Tsahal within the 202ème brigade of the parachutists and arrives at the rank of captain. It is wounded during the Guerre of Kippour in 1973 and is hospitalized during one year. It buys a farm in the village of Nir Akiva and cultivates flowers and vegetables for export. It meets his Ahlama wife whom it marries and of which it has four children.
Political career
Amir Peretz begins her political career as a mayor of Sderot in 1983 then becomes appointed with the Knesset in 1988. Near to Haim Ramon, he is often opposed to the tandem Yitzhak Rabin - Shimon Peres within the party.
With the head of the Trade union Histadrout, it on several occasions organizes general strikes which paralyze the country to be opposed to the liberal governments of right-hand side during many years. He is regarded as a “dove” for his pacifist positions in the conflict with the Palestinians: he was militant of peace now , the main movement of opposition to the colony S Israelis.
Married and father of four children, its origins Séfarades as a Juif Morrocan contribute to give a more popular image to the party, which was often considered to be élitiste by the Israelis originating in North Africa.

After the failure of the second war of Lebanon, it loses the presidency of the workers party in May 2007. The June 15th, it is resigned of the post of minister of Defense.
