Amintore Fanfani
Amintore Fanfani , born the February 6th 1908 with Pieve Santo Stefano (Province of Arezzo), dead the November 20th 1999 with Rome, was a Politician Italy N.
Economist, economic professor of history to the university of Rome. Elected official constantly appointed starting from 1946, elected senator in 1968, in 1972 it is named senator with life by the president of the Republic Giovanni Leone.
He exerted the functions of president of the Italian Council of Ministers to six recoveries:
- of the January 18th 1954 with the January 30th 1954, succeeding Giuseppe Peeled, and itself being replaced by Mario Scelba,
- of July 1st 1958 with the January 26th 1959, succeeding Adone Zoli, and itself being replaced by Antonio Segni (2nd government),
- of the July 26th 1960 with the February 21st 1962, succeeding Fernando Tambroni,
- of the February 21st 1962 with the May 16th 1963, following one another itself, and being replaced by Giovanni Leone (1st government),
- of February 1st 1982 with the April 29th 1983, succeeding Giovanni Spadolini (2nd government), and itself being replaced by Bettino Craxi (1st government),
- of the April 17th 1987 with the April 28th 1987, succeeding Bettino Craxi (2nd government) and itself being replaced by Giovanni Goria.
He was president of the Senate of 1968 with 1973, of 1976 with 1983, of 1985 with 1987. As a president of the Senate, he exerted the functions of temporary chief of the State after the resignations of the president of the Republic Giovanni Leone on June 15th 1978, and to the entry according to the new president Sandro Pertini on July 6th 1978.
Several times Minister for Labor, agriculture, interior, foreign affairs, budget. Secretary of the Christian Democrat of 1954 with 1959 and of 1973 with 1975, president of the party of 1975 with 1976.
It introduces candidate to the elections with the presidency of the Republic in 1972, but it must give up its candidature.
Between 1965 and 1966, it was President of the General meeting the United Nations.
