Amin Al-Husseini
Amin Al-Husseini (July 4th 1895 - 1974), (rear RTL أمينالحسيني, or Hadj Amin Al-Husseini , also known as a " large Mufti") was a religious leader Moslem in Palestine agent and Egypte.
In 1936, Al-Husseini of the Grande Arab Revolt is the instigator. Sought by the British, it leaves Palestine in 1937 and takes refuge in Nazi Germany during the Second world war and takes part in the recruitment of Moslems for the Waffen-SS.
During the War of Palestine of 1948, it carries out in the Arab camp the Palestinian nationalist clan, being opposed to the foundation of a Jewish state and combatant the ambitions of King Abdallah Ier on the Palestine. Following the Palestinian defeat, it loses any political influence and dies in the lapse of memory in 1974.
Historiography palestienne has a long time depicts the Mufti like a hero anti-Zionist, while he was regarded as a virulent Antisémite by historiographies Israeli and Western. These two visions are moderate in its recent biographies. In a study devoted to the role and of the holocaust in the Israeli nationalist feeling, the historian Idith Zertal calls into question the image anti-semite of the Mufti and considers that “more correct description would reveal like a Palestinian leader fanatic nationalist-monk (...)”.
