The American presidential election of 2008 is the next presidential election which will be held with the the United States.
Here the list of the candidatures declared for the American presidential election of 2008.
Recall: Article 2 of the Constitution defines the conditions of eligibility by these terms: " a citizen born on the American ground, of at least 35 years, having resided on the American ground since at least 14 ans." Under the terms of XXIIe amendment with the Constitution of the United States, adopted the February 27th 1951, from office are excluded from the “competition” the current republican president George W. Bush and her democratic predecessor Bill Clinton, both elected officials twice in this function. (“ No person shall Be elected to the office off the President more than twice ''. ”).
The 22nd amendment of the Constitution imposes a limit of two mandates to the candidates with the presidency, but does not impose limit to the candidates with the vice-presidency. The 12th amendment rules however that “No ineligible person, from the Constitution, the responsibility of president could be elected with that of vice-president of the United States. ”, which excludes the possibility for George W. Bush and Bill Clinton to present itself to the vice-presidency.
