American Idol

American Idol: The Search for has Superstar , (what means American Idole: In the search of a super-star ) known more familiarly under the title American Idol , is an American television program whose first episode was diffused in June 2002. It is about the adaptation of the British emission Pop Idol , which was adapted in France under the title Nouvelle Star .

Presentation

The emission is a modern version of TV-hook, a contest where the public can elect the singer or the singer most gifted among still unknown young talents.

American Idol is diffused on the Fox Network in the United States and in version translated into France on W9. The emission was created by Simon Fuller (to manage Spice Girls and of S Club 7), and is carried out by Bruce Gowers (realizer of the musical video of “Bohemian Rhapsody” of Queen), Nigel and Simon Lythgoe (realizers of the emission of Télé reality Survivor ), and Ken Warwick.

American Idol is produced by Fremantle North America, a subsidiary company of Bertelsmann. The prizes winner can sign a contract with one of the many labels of the recording company. Certain candidates who were not declared gaining however could sign a contract and record one or more discs, in particular Justin Guarini, Clay Aiken and Bo Bice.

Three judges comment on the services of the candidates in front of the cameras: Simon Cowell (which is also one of the judges of Pop Idol ), the singer Paula Abdul and the musician and producing Randy Jackson. The emission is presented by Ryan Seacrest.

The reasons of the success of the emission are often allotted to Simon Cowell, who does not hesitate to make wild criticisms against the candidates, often preceded by his sentence fetish “ I don' T mean to hard Be… ” ( I do not want to appear impolite… ).

Like any emission of tele reality to success, American Idol is very often criticized with a negative glance and/or mocker, as in the film American Dreamz .

To date, only two gaining of American Idol could be made a place in the industry of the music: Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. First left its first album, Some Hearts which were sold with more than 4 million specimens and Kelly Clarkson left two albums, Thankful and Breakaway which were sold with more than 4 million and 11 million specimens respectively.

Certain spectators would have noticed that frankly bad candidates, poor dancers and singers, would be selected to make the expenses of the emission and to emphasize the other candidates at their detriment. These spectators thus organized themselves to invite to vote for the worst candidate and thus to take the producers of the emission to their own trap.
