American IV: The Man Comes Around

American IV: The Man Comes Around is the fourth album of Johnny Cash in the series American Recordings; the album is appeared in 2002.

The majority of the tracks are versions of songs taken again by Cash with the assistance of the producer Rick Rubin. For example, for the song Personal Jesus , Rubin asked the guitarist John Frusciante, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to work over again an acoustic version of the song of Martin Gore. It is accompanied with the voices by various artists, of which Fiona Apple, Nick Cave and Don Henley. American IV was the last album of Cash which left alive sound. It was also its first album certified gold (more than 500.000 sold specimens) in thirty years.

The video for Hurt , a song writes by the Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails at the beginning of the Années 1990, was put in nomination in seven categories at MTV Video Music Awards of 2003 and gained the price for better cinematography.
