The american is a bovine race étatsunienne.

Origin

It is a recent race created by Mr. Art Jones in his Ranch of the New Mexico. It is resulting from the crossing from European races and zébuines.
Il started from its herd of hereford of which it wished to improve the productivity in a zone where the dry period lasts eight month. It introduced Shorthorn S to improve the dairy capacity of the mothers, and Charolais for their musculature and their fine framework. The result was not adapted to local climatology. It then introduced zebus Brahmans more resistant to the dry period. During thirty years, it selected the reproducers of its herd while adding seed of Bison to improve the capacity to use a coarse fodder. With final, the race created includes/understands 1/2 brahman, 1/8 bison, 1/4 charolais, 1/16 hereford and 1/16 shorthorn.

Morphology

It wears a black dress or white to mouchetage of gray-black. It has the broad ears falling from its ascending zebu and msuculature of its ascending Europeans.

Aptitudes

It is a race created exclusively for the production of meat.
Elle is well adapted to an hostile environment. It assimilates any type of fodder well, is suited to walk towards the pastures and points of water and the fattened animals give a good structure of carcass.
