Amelia Island
Amelia Island is a island, more southernmost of the Sea Islands (a chain of islands and small islands which extends along the east coast from the the United States, of the North Carolina to the Florida).
Long of twenty and one kilometers and broad six kilometers to the maximum, Amelia Island is located at the south of Cumberland Island (Georgia), off the coasts of Florida, in the county of Nassau. Fernandina Beach and Amelia City is on this island.
Amelia Island is also known under the name of the island with the eight flags , eight occupants having successively managed the places since 1562: the France, the Spain, the the United Kingdom, Spain again, Patriotic of Amelia Island, the green Cross of Florida, the Mexico, the States confederated of America and the the United States.
With her Beach S, Restaurant S, shops of Luxury and art galleries, Amelia Island is one of the tourist destinations most crested of the First Coast. One can practice there the water sport and the Kayak, but also the Golf.
The island accommodates different Festival S, like that of the Crevette, the Jazz or the Chamber music. Is held there also each year, in April, important a professional tournament of female tennis.
