Ambrosini Sagittario

The Ambrosini Sagittario is an experimental hunter with reaction drawn by Sergio Stefanutti with beginning of the year 50.

After having tested a sweptback wing with 45° on the Ambrosini S 7 Freccia , the following stage consisted in studying the phenomena of aerodynamic compression at the transonic speeds. A new prototype was thus constructed with this aerofoil out of wooden and the same center section of the fuselage. The fuselage postpones was slightly lengthened, with a more important drift, but especially before apparatus, this steel construction, was redrawn to place an engine Turbomeca Marboré of 400 kgp. The conduit of the engine emerging under the fuselage, the caster back, retractable, was modified so that the plate of the plane is pulled up. This apparatus accomplished its first flight on July 5th, 1953 and was used for the development of a hunter more evolved/moved, the Aerfer Sagittario II.
