Ambohimanga
Ambohimanga is the name of the one of the twelve crowned hills which surround Tananarive. It is located at approximately 15 km of the center of Antananarivo. Ambohimanga means the blue Colline .
On this hill the old royal city is built, which in its capacity as crowned city was prohibited with the vahaza (generic term indicating the white and more generally the foreigners) and with the Cochon S.
It is in this city that was born the king Ramboasalama who, after the conquest of Antananarivo, became the king Andrianampoinimerina or lord in the middle of the imerina .
At the top of the hill is the Rova , enclosure strengthened who contains: the box where king Andrianaponimerina of 1788 with lived 1810; two houses of wood with stage or came to remain the queens Ranavalo I and II; a park with oxen and the crowned basins or bathed the queens.
Small anecdote, the wall enclosing is covered with a coating made containing Egg white.
