Ambo is a small town of approximately 8.000 inhabitants, located on the east coast of the island of Yaku (Yaku-shima), mountainous island of circular form, and about 25 km in diameter. Ambo is to 65 km in the south of the island of Kyūshū and to 125 km in the south of Kagoshima.
