Ambilatres

The Ambilatres ( Ambiliati at Jules César) was a Gallic Peuple whose localization in the south of low the the Loire, is not proven with certainty. They are only quoted by César in the Guerre of Gaules , and by Pline Old the in its Natural history.

Currently, one estimates that their territory recovered the current department of the the Vendée, less the accesses of the Marais poitevin, plus the south of the Loire-Atlantique and the Maine-et-Loire. These people would have been Armorican.

On this assumption, they would have been close to the Pictons and the Andécaves, and their territory would have been attached to the city pictonne during the creation of the Roman province of Aquitaine.
