The Ambarres (in Latin Ambarri ) are one of the Gallic Peuples.

They gave their name to many communes of the Ain, like Ambérieu-in-Bugey, Ambérieux-in-Dombes, Ambutrix or Ambronay.

Their name comes from ambi , “around” and Arar , name of the Rivière the Saone. Their chief town was Izarnodurum (Izernore). They were customer S of the Éduens.
