The amazonomachie , literally “the combat of the Amazones”, is a frequent iconographic topic in the Greek Antiquité and Roman, as one finds represented as well on vases as of the Bas-relief S of monuments or Sarcophage S. They are scenes of combat opposing to these mythical people warlike, supposed women food beyond the Scythes, with Greeks, and in particular with the following heroes: Thésée which captured their queen Hippolyte (or Antiope according to the authors), Achille victorious of Penthésilée in front of Troy, or Héraclès.
