Amal (Dune)

Amal is a project of the universe of fiction of Dune, aiming at synthesizing the spice whose Arrakis is the only natural source.

Entrusted to the “good” care of the Bucket Tleilax and its enquiring Master Idar Fen Adjica by Shaddam IV and its damnée heart Hasimir Fenring, under the reign of Elrood IX. This project will continue when Shaddam is assembled on the throne of the Gold Lion of the family Corrino.

The tleilaxus needing technological and industrial means important in order to be able to put their knowledge in genetic engineering at the service of this project, the emperor let them seize the rich person planet of Ix and drive out the Maison Vernius. Thereafter the Tleiaxu occupation will be even put under the protection of the Sardaukars under command of Cando Garon.

To make sure that its true objectives would remain secret, and that the project would be concluded, Shaddam requires of Hasimir then appointed Ministre for Spice to supervise Tleilaxus work. Then the enquiring Master Idar Fen Adjica thought of having achieved his goal with his tanks axolotl, the Spice substitute Adji-amal proved to be toxic for the navigator of the Guilde and for the human beings. Ajica as all Sardaukars which he had bribed were affected. Sardaukars taken of warlike madness died vis-a-vis the forces Atréides. As for Adjica he succumbed to the generalized degeneration of his organization. These events giving a disastrous end to the Amal project, and the War of the spice launched by Shaddam whereas he thought of holding his means of ultimate pressure on the Empire.
