The tests proved that he was indeed the father of the little girl and he thus recognized it on August 4th, 2006.

Biography

Three weeks only after the birth of Amedée, then crown prince to the State independent of Croatia, Italy of the South is invaded by the Allies and the government of the king Victor-Emmanuel III of Italy must go vis-a-vis the Anglo-American troops. But the Germany, old allied of Mussolini, lance an operation in the North of the country in order to occupy it and to restore a fascistic government there. The Amédée young person, his mother, his aunt Anne of Orleans and his two cousins then are stopped and sent in a camp of internment in Austria. The father of the prince manages on the other hand to gain the South and becomes ordering naval base of Tarente.

After the end of the Second world war and the proclamation of the republic in Italy, the prince and his family leave food to Argentina. But, whereas it is old only 4 years, his/her father the ex king Tomislav II of Croatia dies and the Amédée young person becomes chief of the branch of Aoste.

Later, Amédée studies with the Naval College Morosini of Venice then share to continue its course in England. It is then received with the Naval Academy of Leghorn, where it obtains the rank of Italian naval officer.

Once its finished military career, prince Amédée is devoted to agriculture in its many fields and in particular to the production of wine, sold under the name of “wine Savoy-Aoste”.

In 1996, Amédée is named representing commune of Palermo for the International foundation “Pro Herbario Mediterraneo”. The following year, the prince is in addition named president of this ecologist organization. From 2003 to 2006, it is also named by the Italian government chair permanent board of management of the national natural reserve of the island of Vivara

It should be said that the prince one is impassioned of botany and that it travelled in the whole world to carry out research in this field.

Titulature and controversy

With its birth, the Oustachis recognize Amédée of Savoy like the crown prince to Croatia and some even proclaim it “king” under the name of “Zvonimir II” (because of abdication of his/her father on July 31st, 1943).

In 1948, the prince becomes duke of Aoste, prince de Cisterna and of Belriguardo, marquis de Voghera and count de Ponderano, following the death of his father.

Since July 7th, 2006, prince Amédée proclaims “Chief of the House of Savoy” and raises the title of “duke of Savoy”. He considers indeed that his/her cousin, Victor-Emmanuel of Savoy (1937), prince de Naples, lost his dynastic rights while marrying without the assent of the king Humbert II of Italy (1904-1983) in 1971. It is however the recognition of the Italian republic by Victor-Emmanuel and his son Emmanuel-Philibert of Savoy (1972) in 2002 which undoubtedly persuaded prince Amédée car-to proclaim heir to the Italian throne.

Let us notice in any case that the president of the Assemblée of the Senators of the Italian Kingdom, Aldo Alessandro Mola, published a declaration in favor of prince Amédée shortly after his proclamation. But, actually, only 9 of the 62 members of the Council voted in favor of the aforesaid the declaration… Prince Amédée also received the support of the sister of the official applicant, the princess Marie-Gabrielle of Savoy (1940).
