Amédée VII of Savoy
Amédée VII of Savoy , known as the count Rouge , born with Avigliana the February 24th 1360, died with Ripaille on November 1st 1391, was count de Savoie, of Aoste and Maurienne of 1383 with 1391. It was wire of Amédée VI '' the count Vert '', count de Savoie, of Aoste and Maurienne, and Bonne of Bourbon.
He married in 1377 Bonne of Berry, girl of Jean de France, duke of Berry and duke of Auvergne, and Jeanne of Armagnac. She was grand-daughter of the king de France Jean II the Good. Of this union three children are known:
- Amédée VIII (1383 † 1439), count de Good Savoie
- of Savoy (1388 † 1432), married in 1403 with Louis of Savoy (1364 † 1418), lord of Piedmont
- Jeanne of Savoy (1392 † 1460), married in 1411 with Jean-Jacques Paleologist (1395 † 1445), marquis de Montferrat, of a branch junior by the house Paleologist, family of Byzantine emperors.
Amateur of tournament and large war leader, one says that enemy blood often constellated its armor from where its nickname. Actually, this nickname was with the fact that it was the only one with always wearing red clothing, like his father, Amédée VI, wore green clothing.
To died of the Jeanne Queen, in 1388, within the framework of the conflicts of succession between his/her children, Nice was attached to Savoy (Dédition of Nice in Savoy).
