Amédée Guillemin
Amédée Guillemin , born the July 5th 1826 with Pierre-of-Bresse, died in this same city in 1893 was a scientific writer and a French journalist.
It began its studies with the college of Beaune and finished them with Paris, where, during some time it taught the Mathématiques as free professor, while writing in the liberal sheets opposed to the Empire.
Then, in 1860, it was fixed at Chambéry, where he was sub-editor of the political newspaper Savoy , then he returned to Paris after the annexation. It held the scientific chronicle then to with it the national Future .
It started soon to publish its scientific works of physics and of astronomy, who were success. Its book the Sky , magnificiently published was translated into several languages. Its capital work remains Le Monde Physique in five volumes of large size. It published also a whole series of little books of astronomy and physics, gathered under the name of Petite popular encyclopedia , solid, pleasant and erudite collection of sciences and their applications, appeared at Hachette:

It also made appear at Lechevalier: the republican Instruction . He collaborated in a very great number of newspapers and reviews literary, scientific and political, in particular with Nature , with the French Republic and the Philosophical and Religious Revue . It is him which wrote the astronomy part of the second edition of the Dictionnaire of Natural history of Dorbigny.
It also dealt with policy, and there remained always faithful to its liberal convictions.
