Amédée Gordini
Amédée Gordini (Amedeo Gordini) called “the Wizard” (June 23rd 1899 with Bazzano - May 25th 1979 Paris) is one of the most important manufacturers of racing racing cars of the Années 1950. French of origin Italy, mechanic then pilot preparer of genious and finally manufacturer of car of race with Simca, Gordini then Renault.
Biography
Training at FIAT in Italy
Amedeo Gordini is born the June 23rd 1899 with Bazzano small village close to Bologna in Italy.Become orphan, it enters in training as mechanic to old 10 years in a dealer FIAT near his Master and friendly Edoardo Weber (celebrates later for its Carburateur S Weber).
In 1913 14 years old, it work at Isotta Fraschini with Milan under the direct orders of Alfieri Maserati (founder of Maserati in 1914).
He is enlisted as soldier in the Infanterie of the Italian Armée during the First World War then returned to Isotta Fraschini after the conflict. He prepares his own racing racing car on the basis of FIAT Bianchi and work with Mantoue or he specializes on the preparation of engines Hispano-Suiza.
In 1925 Gordini accomplishes a voyage to Paris with which it falls in love and or it is fixed definitively. It is made naturalize, changed its name into Amédée and work during four years as preparer of cars Hispano-Suiza.

In 1926 he marries a Frenchwoman and settles as dealer FIAT with Suresnes in the suburbs Parisienne. Simca Gordini
Following its remarkable technical and sporting results, Henri Theodore Pigozzi (founder of Simca in 1934, which holds the license of manufacture of FIAT in France) gives his support to him before making of it the official representative of the mark in competition. In 1945 Simca-Gordini joins again with its important series of victories and with international sporting glory in automobile Grand Prix after an interruption of the automobile races duent with the Second world war. Independent Gordini
In 1951 Gordini becomes independent and settles Victor boulevard in the 15th district of Paris. It puts an end to its association with Simca which refuses to launch out in Formule 1 vis-a-vis Ferrari, BRM or Mercedes… It designs its first personal engine of 6 cylinders, 1987 cm ³ with two camshafts at the head, 3 carburettors Weber double-body for 175 ch.In 1953 Amédée Gordini is decorated with the Légion of honor. It obtains one 6th place with the 24 Hours of driving Mans category 2,5 liters which gives birth to from the hopes of Formule 1 but finances are insufficient to develop a project of engine of 8 cylinders on line with a suspension with four independent wheels.
Renault Gordini
In 1957 Gordini is constrained definitively to give up the individual competition following big problems of financing. The Place Amédé-Gordini is baptized in its honor in the 15th district of Paris
