Amédée Gastoué

Amédée Henri Gustave No5el Gastoué (1873 - 1943) is a Musicologue, type-setter, choirmaster to Saint-Jean-Baptist of Belleville, professor of Gregorian chant with the Schola Cantorum. It will be interested particularly in the Byzantine music, that of the Moyen-âge and to the musical art Armenian. He will also teach at the catholic institute of Paris, the Stanislas college and the Montaigne college. He teaches the choir singing, the medieval music. He will be president of the French company of musicology (1934-1936) and known for his studies and writings. He was high with the dignity of commander of the pontifical Order of saint-Gregoire the Large one by the pope Pie X. Amadée Gastoué is the back-back grandfather of Emmanuel Trenque, itself organist and chief of chorus.
