Alyatte II (born in? - died in 560 av. J. - C.) was the twenty-ninth king of Lydie, the fourth of the dynasty of the Mermnades.
Biography
Alyatte II succeeded Sadyatte, and reigned nearly sixty years, to 621 av. J. - C. with 560 av. J. - C.. It was about to fight battle to Cyaxare when an eclipse of the sun, predicted by Thalès de Milet, frightened the two armies and determined them to make peace. One is not agreement on the time of this eclipse, that the ones place into 601, the others in 597 and even in 585. Alyatte was father of Crésus.
