Alvaro Gestido

Alvaro Pelegrín Gestido (known as el Caballero de Deporte ) is a former player of Football Uruguyan, born the May 17th 1907 with Montevideo and deceased the January 18th 1957 with Santa Clara del Olimar, of 1m 76 per 73 kg, having primarily played with ( Urinegra ). It occupied the left side of the ground, either like back, or like medium.

(note: his/her older brother was the general Óscar Diego Gestido (1901 - 1967), President of the Uruguay in 1967)

Career

It counted 25 national selections, of 1927 with 1940.

Its personal prize list is particularly packed: it indeed gained a world cup (in 1930), two Olympic titles (in 1924 - at 17 years! -, and 1928), the Lipton cut in 1927 and 1929 and cuts it Newton in 1929 and 1930, like seven championships of Uruguay (in 1928 and 1929 as an amateur, then in 1932, 1935, 1936, 1937 and 1938 as a professional) and the Rioplatense championship (vis-a-vis the champion of Argentina, in 1928). ----
