Altstätten
Altstätten is a small town of Suisse, in the Canton of Saint-Gall (District of Rheintal).
This city was ruined by the seat which it had to support against the Austrians in 1419.
Geography
Larger commune of the valley of the the Rhine, Altstätten is the medical center and school of the area.
History
The name of Altstätten is mentioned for the first time into 853. The city, strengthened in XIIIe to be used as a basis soldier for the convent of Saint-Gall, was high with the row of city in 1298. The city was burnt in 1410.

- Convent of Nasturtiums of Our-Lady-of-Good-Help (Maria-Hilf) outside the city. Devoted in 1616, increased in 1733-1734, church altered in 1966. Inside Gothic Pietà (1350-1370).
- Forstkapelle (vault of the Forests) of the low Middle Ages on a hill in the south of the locality (seen on the plain of the valley of the Rhine).
- Castle-extremely of Neu-Altstätten , mentioned in 1388, rebuilt after being destroyed in 1404.
