Altkirch
Altkirch (German, " church vieille") is a common French, located in the department of the Haut-Rhin and the area Alsace. This city is traditionally indicated as being the capital of the Sundgau.
Its inhabitants is called the Altkirchois and the Altkirchoises .

The Musée Sundgauvien of Altkirch recalls the history of Sundgau and the town of Altkirch. Located just beside the town hall, it presents models of Altkirch through times, the costumes of time, the works of art of artists considered local, etcThe CRAC, Rhenish Center of Art Contenporain presents exposures of current art permanently. 18 rue du Château - Altkirch.
The Magic Forêt of Altkirch takes form at the beginning of December and is completed at the beginning of January. It occupies most of the city and puts in scene the various legends sundgauviennes through characters of big sizes. The spectacle is doubled of a lighting which develops the scene and of bands sounds in several languages which tell the legends of Sundgau and the area. The spectacle is especially splendid of night.
The Grotte with the Fireflies is another magic place for the period of Christmas. An association of impassioned miniatures carries out a labyrinth in miniature around a topic of legend. In 2006, it is Robin of the Wood which was with the honor. To find it, it is enough to go to Altkirch in period of Christmas and to follow the arrowing set up.
