Althée
In the Greek Mythology, Althée (in Greek old Ἀλθαία / Althaía ), girl of Thestios and Eurythémis, is the wife of Œnée (king of Calydon). It is the mother of Méléagre, Tydée, Melanippe and Déjanire.
With the birth of Méléagre, the Moires predicted that he would live only until a log, extreme in the hearth of family, is consumed by fire. Althée immediately hid the log.
Later, Méléagre having killed his/her two brothers at the time of an argument, it threw this log with fire in an access of anger, and became thus the cause of dead of his/her son. It conceived of it soon as well sorrow as it gave itself death.
