Alternative media

Project: This article, in addition to approaching the theoretical references of what alternative media is a , wants to illustrate the concept by presenting a current panorama of reference of alternative media, possibly presented by country or topics (ecologist S, Anarchiste S, of the revolutionary Extreme left, Féministe S, of the cultural Minorité S… or transverse like the topics Altermondialiste S). It is with besides it should be noted that a classification is not always obvious, the concerns having sometimes tendency to recut itself, and some of the quoted media trying to have a comprehensive view.

The alternate media are presented in the form of Médias different from the great press groups, of communication of mass, being opposed this way to the Média of mass. They financially offer more independent information in this direction, often not involved (with the difference in the great commercial groups), with counter-current of the dominant tendencies.
Difficult to encircle precisely, a definition present which they convey of the ideas and information usually little disseminated in the great commercial media.
Today, the alternative media can take on formats " traditionnels" (newspapers, radio, magazine…) or which is it less: virtual online magazines and other supports, multi-media in Internet.
Historically, the media alternate accompanied the evolution by the techniques of communication: press alternate, alternate, associative radios (as of the years 1970), alternative televisions (years?), Alternate Internet.
Internet also gave a second breath to the free radios, associative by the technique of the Streaming (see also Webradio).

The press
Towards the end of the 19th century, the bad work conditions and the mediocrity of the social conditions support the expansion of a working press, which calls in question the dominant political press.
For Antonio Gramsci, to counter the Hegemony, the dominant ideology, this press is a crucial factor with the intellectuals won over to the ideology Marxiste for the formation of the movement of mass.
Concretely, the examples do not miss in the Marxist or anarchistic groups: let us quote in Italy, in 1920, under the fascistic mode, the daily newspaper Umanita nova , newspaper of the anarchistic Fédération Italian.

Radios
One can quote Radio Nova which was a long time pirate radio station and progressively evolved/moved of the birth of new styles of music.

televisions
With the beginning of the year 1970, Canada is the first country to establish channels for Community televisions, where in fact the local populations produce and diffuse their own emissions
