Alternation

The term Alternance can refer to:

  • the Formation by alternation

  • in fruit-bearing Arboriculture, the tendency which has some Fruit trees to produce Fruit S only one year out of two. The individual alternation of the buttons with flowers is controlled thanks to growth regulators (Gibbérelline S) produced by seeds of the fruits in formation. See also " polishing ".
  • in democracy the political Alternation, when a party seizes the power on another after elections
