Altenheim is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace.

on January 21st, 1945 the Bomber B 17 American " PRINCESS PAT" touched by the FLAK of return of a mission on Heilbronn, was posed on the belly close to D 230 between Altenheim and Furchhausen.
The pilot Lt GREENSTREET made a loop around Steinbourg and deposited the crew with the " Karrimatte" close to Ronsewiller. The parachute of one of the aviators went into a tailspin, it did not survive. The nine other team members are unscathed and taken charges some by the US Army. Altenheim was released on November 23rd, 1944 by the troops of 2° dB.
