Altavoz de Tris

Struth is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace.

The common one belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North.

History

The village was founded at the 17th century when the owners families of the grounds - of Steinkallenfels (1648-1692) and Fouquerolles (1706-1756) - rented with owners. The establishment of a glassmaking close to the village close to Tieffenbach could contribute to populate it. The family of Fouqueroles being religieusement tolerant, all the confessions were accepted. A census carried out in 1756 indicates that there existed in Struth 7 families Lutherans, 8 reformed families catholic, 19 families, 3 Jewish families anabaptists and 7 families. One century later, in 1868, one counted 161 Jews, 88 catholics, 110 reformed and 100 Lutherans. The anabaptists had emigrated with the the United States. A Synagog was built in 1836, as well as a school Jew with a mikve (ritual bath) in basement in 1862.

Inheritance Jew

One can see in Struth a Synagog 19th century in an excellent state of conservation, registered with the additional inventory of the Historic buildings since July 16th 1987. It contains in its furniture of style néoroman completely preserved a bench of circumcision out of wood going back to 1886, classified historic building since November 1995. The building, built in 1836, is of traditional style with a polygonal Chevet neogothic added in 1903. Because of the reduction in the population Jew of the village, the regular offices stopped in 1969. The synagog belongs since July 2nd 1996 to the commune, which was committed reserving of it the use with the religious offices and the cultural activities organized under the aegis of the Consistoire Jew of the the Low-Rhine or the Association of safeguard of the historical heritage Jew of Struth. There exists also a Cimetière and a school Jews. The latter shelters a Mikvé (ritual bath) with the basement; built in 1862, it remained in function until in 1924. She currently plays the part of Communal Hearth.
