Altadis

Altadis is a multinational group of the sector of the Tabac and distribution, born from fusion in 1999 between French the Seita and Spanish Tabacalera.

Altadis is today the 3rd manufacturer of Cigarette S in Europe of the West. The market of the Cigar account few large international actors. Altadis was the world n° 1, far in front of its competitors and especially the only actor in the forefront of the main markets which are the the United States, the Spain and the France. It is however the only one to have a wallet of prestigious cuban marks thanks to its participation of 50% in the company Corporación Habanos acquired in 2000.

Organization

It is composed of three divisions:

Cigarette S: Gallic marks (mild tobacco and brown), Fortuna (mild tobacco), Gipsies (mild tobaccos and brown), Ducados (mild tobaccos and brown), Royal (mild tobacco), Amsterdamer (scaferlatis) etc
Cigar S: Jose Piedra, VegaFina, Quay of Orsay, Flor de Copan, etc…
distribution: Logista, Metavideotex (mark Strator), 1 Say, LPM Promodern

In 2004, the group posted a Turnover of 3,518 billion euros for manpower of 27 500 paid. It is directed by Antonio Vázquez.

Altadis and culture

As much of large companies, Altadis develops also an cultural activity via a Fondation, a Prix devoting contemporary Plasticiens and the organization of ideological debates and conferences. Altadis is also the principal patron of the international festival of film of marrakech.
