Alsop sailor
Marin Alsop (born on October 16th 1956) is a Leader the United States.
Born with Manhattan with New York, she studies with the Université Yale then with the Juilliard School. She studies then near Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa and Gustav Meier.
She succeeded Philippe Entremont with the musical direction of the Symphony orchestra of the Colorado of 1993 to 2005. Since 2002, it directs the Symphony orchestra of Bournemouth, and since 2007 the Symphony orchestra of Baltimore, succeeding Yuri Temirkanov.
It was indicated artist of the year 2003 by the musical magazine Gramophone and received the price of leader of the Royal Philharmonic Society during the same season.
September 20th 2005, it became the first leader to receive the Prix MacArthur.
