Alsatian museum
The Alsatian Musée of Strasbourg is located at 23 quai St-Nicolas. It is a popular museum of art, presenting testimonys of the traditional Alsatian life: furniture, ceramics, toys, imageries.
History
November 3rd 1902, being studied of Ritleng Master, in Strasbourg, the first meeting took place. It was read out the act of formation of the company of the future Museum. Were present: Pierre To rough-hew, Fetter, Ferdinand Dollinger, Anselme Laugel and the Forrer archeologist. Had been made represent by procuration: Georges Haehl, Georges Spetz, R. Schlumberger and Louis Schlumberger. Pierre Bucher spoke and produced a letter of Charles Spindler, in whom this one proposed to offer to the Company in formation a series of watercolours painted with its hand and représenant costumes and Alsatian types in exchange of an entirely released partnership share of 500 marks. It was decided that Georges Ritleng would be honorary president.The museum opened these doors with the public in May 1907.
