Alpine shrew

The alpine shrew ( Sorex alpinus ) belongs to the family of the Soricidae.

Biology

It is a species of cracks and rocks near the brooks of the mountain forests.

It has larger than the Musaraigne sail needle and is characterized some by a longer tail and a completely gray peeling.

They are active animals all the year, recluses, being activated days like night with regular periods of pause. They eat the equivalent of their weight each days in insects, gastropods, towards or small vertebrate.

Distribution

Palearctic Écozone , species of the mountains of the Central Europe. In France meets only in the solid mass of the Jura and the Alps.
