Alphonse of Breuil

Alphonse of Breuil (or Dubreuil) is a Horticulteur born with Rouen in 1811, died in 1885.

Biography

In 1848 Professor of agriculture at the School of agriculture and rural economy of the department of the Seine-Lower , professor of arboriculture to the botanical garden and the primary Teacher training school of Rouen. It presents to the minister Agriculture and Trade a decree project relating to the teaching of the horticulture which remains without continuation. In 1853, he is professor of Arboriculture to the Conservatoire national of arts and trades with Paris. Charged by the Administration with agriculture with ensuring of the conferences on arboriculture fruit-bearing in all the departments which wish it. It gives this course until in the Années 1870. It creates in 1868 with Jean Darcel, chief engineer of the Ponts and Chaussées with the Service of the walks and plantations of the town of Paris, the Council school and departmental of arboriculture of the town of Paris. It takes its retirement in 1883. He dies in 1885.
