Alphonse XII of Spain

Alphonse XII (Madrid, November 28th 1857 - November 25th 1885), king d' Espagne between (1874 - 1885).

Wire of the queen Isabelle II and the king consort François d' Assise. He is child when his parents are détrônés, consequently he lives in exile in various European cities like Paris, Vienna and Sandhurst.

In 1874, monarchy was restored and in 1875 it returned to Spain and was crowned king.

Its reign primarily consisted in hardening monarchy and the country mined by the internal quarrels. It approved the constitution of 1876.

In November 1885 he died of the Tuberculose.

Marry in first weddings his/her cousin the infante of Spain Maria Mercedes (1860-1878) girl of Antoine of Orleans, duke of Montpensier, and infante Louise Fernande de Bourbon; its death at 18 years made this young very popular queen a romantic heroin.

Marry in second weddings the archduchess of Austria Marie-Christine de Teschen (1858-1929), from which it had three children:

  • the princess of Asturies Maria Mercedes (1880-1904)
  • the infante Maria Teresa (1882-1912)
  • Alphonse XIII (1886-1941), posthumous child and king as of his birth on May 17th, 1886, under the regency of his/her mother.
