Alphonse II of Naples
Alphonse II of Aragon , born in 1448, died in 1495, peninsular king de Sicile (king de Naples) (1494 - 1495), wire of Ferdinand Ier, king de Naples, and of Isabel de Chiaramonte.
The king Charles VIII of France, heir to Rene Ier of Naples, asserted the kingdom of Naples that Alphonse V of Aragon, the grandfather of Alphonse II, had conquered on Rene Ist. Called by the wish of the majority of Neapolitan, Charles VIII invades the kingdom of Naples. Alphonse, abandoned of Doria (1584), his allies, and badly assisted by his subjects, of which it had alienated the heart by his defects, abdicated in February 1495 in favor of his son Ferdinand II, left Naples before the French, and withdrew himself in Sicily, and died a little later in November 1495.
He had married Ippolita-Marie (1446 † 1488), girl of François Sforza, duke of Milan, and Blanche Marie Visconti, and had had:
- Ferdinand II (1469 † 1496), king de Naples
- Pierre, prince de Rossano (1471 † 1491)
- Isabelle (1470 † 1524), married in 1489 with Jean Galéas II Sforza, duke of Milan
