Alphonse-Marie Relative

Alphonse-Marie Parent (Saint-Jean-Chrysostome, April 2nd, 1906 - October 7th, 1970) was a catholic priest and a teacher Québécois. He is especially known to have given his name to the Rapport Relative on the reform of the education system.
Native of Saint-Jean-Chrysostome, it studies with the Séminaire of Quebec and the Collège of Holy-Anne-of-the-Pocatière. Ordered priest in 1929, it obtains its doctorate in philosophy with the catholic Université of Leuwen.
During the Years 1940, it is with the personal service of the Austrian imperial family and the pope Pie XII. Working with the University Laval, he is vice-rector of 1949 with 1954 then vice-chancellor until in 1960.
President of the board of inquiry into the teaching of Quebec of 1961 with 1966, it establishes durable reforms on all the provincial teaching structure which created the network of the Collèges of mainstream education and professional.
Deceased in 1970, its funeral was held with the Cathédrale Notre-Dame of Quebec.
