Aloïs Brunner

Aloïs Brunner is a war criminal Nazi born the April 8th 1912 with Rohrbrunn in Austria.

Third Reich

In 1931, at the 19 years age, it joined the Nazi party. It became one of the actors of the final solution at the sides of Adolf Eichmann.

He in particular was the instigator of the following facts:

Deportation towards the death camps of 47.000 Austrian Jews.
Deportation towards the death camps of 43.000 Greek Jews (see History of the Jews in Salonique)
Chief of the Camp of Drancy, in France, it made off-set 25.000 French Jews or residents in France with Auschwitz.

It was also implied in the raids of Berlin and the deportation of the Enfants of Izieu.

The exile in Syria

It left then in Syria about the year 1954, where it was engaged like advising government. It helped Syria to set up techniques of torture in the Syrian prisons. This same year, it was first once condemned to died by Contumace in France.

It was tracked without slackening by Simon Wiesenthal, but found refuge with Damas where it would be known under the name of “Dr. Georg Fischer” or Ali Mohammed. The Germany and other countries claimed without success its extradition. In August 1987, Interpol launched a Mandat of international stop in its opposition. In 1995, the prosecutor of Germany announced a reward of 333.000 dollars for any information which would allow its arrest.

Brunner lost an eye and several fingers by receiving letter bombs which were addressed to him by the Israeli secret services, the Mossad. In December 1999, the rumors remade surface and gave a report on its death in 1996. But of the German journalists who had made a stay in Syria affirmed that it was always alive and that it lived with the Méridien hotel of Damas.

The March 2nd 2001, it was condemned again in France by Contumace for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The marked sorrow was the judgment with life.

He probably died in Syria.

In July 2007, the Austrian ministry for Justice announces on its site that a reward of 50.000 euros is promised with any person who would provide information being able to lead to locate or capture Aloïs Brunner and Aribert Heim.
