Almont-les-Junies

Almont-les-Junies is a common French, located in the department of the Aveyron and the area the Midday-Pyrenees. Its inhabitants is called Junhalmontois.

Geography

History

The first mention of the locality of Almon (Almontis) resulting from the Cartulaire de Conques and is dated between 997-1031. In the area close to Almon, a capmas of Odolric is mentioned with mill, grounds worships and uncultivated. The grounds around Almon will gradually form part of the grounds known as of Holy Foy, reserved for the use of the abbey of Conques.

April 1st, 1993, the commune of Almon-les-Junies is famous Almont-les-Junies, with a " t" , to approach the Latin root Almontis. The road panels of the area remained obsolete lasting several years sometimes.

Personalities related to the commune

Paul Ramadier , mayor of Decazeville in 1929, president of the Council in 1947. It makes known the culinary speciality of the estofinado in Paris. Considered for its fine palate and its good appetite, amateur of stockfish, it could not occur some when it was of function with Matignon.
