Almansa

Almansa is a common of the Province of Albacete, in the south-east of the community Castille it Manche in Spain.

Demography

History

In 1476, Almansa was definitively attached to the Crown of the Kings Catholiques like other villages of the marquisat.

Around Almansa was fought an important battle in 1707, the Bataille of Almansa during the War of succession of Spain. This battle was decisive to sit Philippe V on the Throne of Spain. In commemoration of this battle, was raised, at the XVIIIe century, a monolith not preserved today.

Since 1778 and by decision of Charles III, this old city took the title of City.
