The Allianz Arena called the “ Schlauchboot ” (inflatable dinghy) because of its aspect, is the name of a stage of Football in the north of Munich. The stage has a capacity of 69.901 spectators, including 66.000 sitted places. The principal architects were Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Its cost of construction rises to 340 million euros. The group Allianz partly financed this cost. This is why the stage bears the name of this German insurer.
Its frontage shines of three colors: white for the international matches, red for the Bayern of Munich and blue for the matches of the TSV 1860. It is in this stage that the teams TSV Munich 1860 and Bayern of Munich play their home matches since season 2005/2006.
It is also one of the stages which accommodated the Football world cup of 2006 which was held in Germany. The match of opening between Germany and Costa Rica was played on June 9th, 2006 there.
The stage is named FIFA World Cup Stadium Munich at the time of the football world cup of 2006, because FIFA does not allow the publicity of the stages. For similar restrictions, the stage will bear the name of “Munich Arena” at the time of the competitions organized by UEFA.
