Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft
AEG (of German Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft undertaken of general electricity is ) was a German producer of electronics and electric components general public (domestic articles) as well as materials specialized for industry and the army. It had been founded in 1883 by Emil Rathenau.
Aeronautical activities
AEG created in 1910 in Berlin-Henningsdorf an aeronautical department (Abteilung Flugzeugbau), initially to build under license of the biplanes Wright. First is realized in 1910. AEG created then its own research department and will produce during the first war 658 observation aircrafts and of combat and 523 bombers, one second factory was made up in Berlin Johannisthal. December 13rd, 1917, in partnership with HAPAG and groups it Zeppelin, AEG founded the Deutsche Luftreederei (DLR), which exploited as of on February 5th, 1919 the first European air line between Berlin and Weimar by means of twin-engine bombers G V converted. 5 lines were quickly opened, connecting Berlin to Hamburg and Sylt, Leipzig, Swinemünde, Westerland and Gelsenkirchen. 233 passengers were transported during the first year of exploitation. The clauses of the Traité of Versailles involved the closing of the factory of planes but the airline company continued its activities until its fusion in the Deutsche Luft Hansa. The day before the Second world war, factory AEG of Wildau developed a captive helicopter of observation, with electrical motor of course.
